A talk on 30 March 2026, starting 12 noon, School of Creative Media (room to be confirmed), as part of the course SM5317 Digital Sound and Computer Music, we are pleased to present Professor Dr Marko Ciciliani, IEM, Austria.
Transmedia composition and modes-of-encounter
Marko Ciciliani will speak about recent projects centered on transmedia composition: constellations of autonomous works across different media and formats, such as concert works, installations, performance-lectures, and other modes of presentation. While all works address the same field of inquiry, each approaches it from a distinct angle and through different modes-of-encounter, establishing complementary relationships among them. As one such mode-of-encounter, Ciciliani will present a mobile digital instrument based on a multidirectional spherical speaker using higher-order ambisonics (HOA).
