SoundLab loudspeakers

This morning in my class SM3130 Sound Installation & Spatialisation was dedicated to loudspeakers. I collated and setup 7 different kinds, and we listened to various music through them, to identify and understand perceptual differences. This was reinforced by then measuring frequency-amplitude responses for each speaker, using a Behringer test mic and custom script in R to produce the graphs below. This fed into our discussion about which speaker to use for different situations, artistic and/or technical. As some of you are or will be using loudspeakers, I thought this approach and (tentative) results might be illuminating. Happy to hear your thoughts 🙂
