We are delighted to announce a guest talk by Dr Winston Yeung starting at 12noon on Tuesday 18 March 2025 in M6052 AudioLab. The session is part of SM5317 Digital Sound and Computer Music. If you are not currently enrolled but would like to attend, please contact us first as seats are limited.

Digital sound creativity

In this session, we will be looking at the concepts behind some unconventional digital sound synthesis techniques. Through hands-on exercises, we will explore the creation of digital glitch sounds using Max. Our focus will be on implementing a simple record-and-playback mechanism to generate and manipulate glitchy and fragmented audio textures.

Dr Winston Yeung is a composer/ sound artist specializing in the use of computer technology to create experimental sound, performances, and installations. His research interests include live coding, digital sound manipulation techniques, human-computer interaction, and the creative application of data sonification. www.yeungtw.com
