~jukebox is a project that focus on sound art improvisation and sharing by artists.
The event will contain solo, jamming and sharing parts. Furthermore, there will be an introduction of SoundLab : jukebox installation prototype, a physical archive of sounds and performances.
About the guest artist : 龢wo4
Brian Chu is an interdisciplinary artist from Hong Kong, working across sound, writing, installation, and performance. He is a drummer of the band Restless Waters, a member of the experimental music and moving image collective Exit-Entry, and the interdisciplinary art collective Writing As Method. He is currently pursuing an MFA in Global Art Practice at Tokyo University of the Arts. He has performed in Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan, the Philippines, Malaysia, and Chicago, USA. In 2018, he was selected for the soundpocket Artist Support Programme as an emerging artist.
Centred on improvisational practice, his work investigates how relationships are formed among people, communities, and things through listening and the interaction of sound and space. In recent years, his practice has expanded into writing, installation, and workshops, continuing to explore the practice of commoning and the possibilities of coexistence.
His solo releases include MANNAKA (2025), only to be found (2023), and Spiral (2020). Collaborative releases include mui wo (2024), Achilles Jam Anthology 2024
